South-West wines

Land of history and gastronomy, the South West is also full of exceptional, singular and varied wines. The heterogeneity of soils, influence of the oceanic climate, reliefs and rivers that cross the territory (Lot, Garonne, Dordogne, Gers, Tarn ...) explain the variety and the high quality of the wines produced there.

The important efforts made in recent years and decades by the winemakers in the cultivation of their vines and in the winemaking have only favored this qualitative production. For this third edition, our guide explores new vineyards: Bergerac, Duras, Cahors, Gaillac, Buzet and Fronton have been "joined" by these lands of tradition that are regions of Brulhois, Armagnac and Côtes de Gascogne.

VinovalieCave de Rabastens

rabstens 2

Vinovalie symbolises the union of 3 wine-producing areas: Gaillac, Fronton and Cahors. The Cave de Rabastens cooperative covers 1,300 hectares (3,200 acres) of vines and had a long-held reputation for inventing new ideas for Gaillac winegrowers. The local grape varieties, Braucol, Duras, Len de l’El and Mauzac are vinified here. Free visits and tastings of a wide range of wines are offered by friendly, very customer-focussed staff!
