South-West wines

Land of history and gastronomy, the South West is also full of exceptional, singular and varied wines. The heterogeneity of soils, influence of the oceanic climate, reliefs and rivers that cross the territory (Lot, Garonne, Dordogne, Gers, Tarn ...) explain the variety and the high quality of the wines produced there.

The important efforts made in recent years and decades by the winemakers in the cultivation of their vines and in the winemaking have only favored this qualitative production. For this third edition, our guide explores new vineyards: Bergerac, Duras, Cahors, Gaillac, Buzet and Fronton have been "joined" by these lands of tradition that are regions of Brulhois, Armagnac and Côtes de Gascogne.

Cavedu marmandais

cave du marmandais 2

In the heart of south-west France, the Côtes du Marmandais winegrowing area covers 27 Lot-et-Garonne communes on lush hillsides overlooking both banks of the River Garonne. Its diversity of terroirs makes up its identity. Its wines are blends of grape varieties that flourish in these soils.
One very local variety, Abouriou, adds depth and lots of colour with a tannic taste. For wine lovers looking for something new!
