South-West wines

Land of history and gastronomy, the South West is also full of exceptional, singular and varied wines. The heterogeneity of soils, influence of the oceanic climate, reliefs and rivers that cross the territory (Lot, Garonne, Dordogne, Gers, Tarn ...) explain the variety and the high quality of the wines produced there.

The important efforts made in recent years and decades by the winemakers in the cultivation of their vines and in the winemaking have only favored this qualitative production. For this third edition, our guide explores new vineyards: Bergerac, Duras, Cahors, Gaillac, Buzet and Fronton have been "joined" by these lands of tradition that are regions of Brulhois, Armagnac and Côtes de Gascogne.

DomaineCourège-Longue

courege longue 2

In my quest for the best Buzet terroirs, I came across these magnificent plots of vines with gravelly soils. This red gravel is quite distinctive, because it has been deposited on the tops of small hills. The vines are oriented south and south-east and are ideally positioned to produce subtle wines with breeding that are fleshy and elegant.”
